Q: I'm not ready to take direct bookings. Do I still need a website?

Even if you're not ready to leap to direct bookings (yet), it's a good idea to get a jump start with your own website. Building domain authority and search engine optimization takes time. You don't want to be in a position where you're ready to take direct bookings but don't already have a website in place. Until you take direct bookings (if you ever do), you can simply link the reservations buttons to VRBO, AirBnB, or any other platform you choose.

Q: Will my site show up on search engines?

Ranking in search engines is both a science and an art. Publishing a website does not mean it will show up in search engines. Some work needs to happen for your site to start ranking. We will take care of the basic SEO using best practices so your site will be correctly set up for search engine ranking. We will also provide some articles for your blog. Content is key for helping search engines find your site. Ideally, you will continue to populate your site with helpful, informative articles that your guests will find useful when they stay in your home. We can assist you with content packages should you decide it's not something you want to tackle.

Q: How long will it take to get my site completed and live?

Our Pro and Premier package websites will be ready for review in 7-10 days. In the review phase, you can make changes to the design or content using our approval form. Once we receive your changes, we will perform those and submit your site for final review within 2 days. Once you approve your site for publication, it will be live within 24 hours. The SuperHost sites can take longer depending on how many properties you have. Q: Can I make changes and updates to my site myself?

Absolutely! The Wordpress dashboard is set up so you can make simple text changes, add or delete photos, and other updates. Or, if you don't feel comfortable updating the site yourself, we can perform those changes for you as part of your hosting package.

Q: Will my site look like all the others you design?

Absolutely not! Even though we start with a template to speed up the design, we customize your site to fit your design style. Choose your colors, fonts, backgrounds, and content. Overwhelmed by choices? Don't worry! We'll lay out your site with the design we feel is best based on your photos and the style of your STR(s). Then you can let us know if we nailed it right off the bat or if you want to change some things. Easy peazy.

Q: Why is there a monthly fee in addition to the design charge?

All websites must live somewhere, and that is referred to as hosting. It's kind of like buying a travel camper. You have to park it somewhere to use it. You can park it in your backyard, or you can go to a fancy campground where you can hook up to water, sewer, and electricity. The parking is like hosting. Your website has to live somewhere in order to be public. Our hosting comes with unlimited email addresses (@yourdomain), 99.9% uptime so you don't have to worry about your site going down, plenty of space for all of your photos and files, and free (fast!) support for questions and assistance.
